Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center Documents and Reports

MISSION

Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center is a group of professionals responding to concerns of child abuse. We are dedicated to helping kids, seeking justice, and promoting healthy families.

VISION

Create a recognized community response for seeking truth, restoring health, and working together to end child abuse.

PURPOSE

Dawson Place exists because EVERY child who is the victim of physical abuse, sexual assault, neglect, drug endangerment, or witness to a violent crime deserves the professional care that they need to be safe, to seek justice, and to heal.

About Dawson Place

Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center is a nonprofit organization providing safety, justice, and healing to victims of child physical and sexual abuse, assault, and neglect. Here at Dawson Place, we have every service needed for victims and their families to receive the help they need. The Child Advocacy Center model minimizes the number of times a child has to tell their story, by bringing each professional needed for a case into one building, reducing the trauma of a victim’s experience.

We have highly trained professionals who provide each child exceptional support, care, and services to guide them through seeking justice and healing. Our child interview specialists are trained to minimize their trauma. We use therapy dogs to help kids feel safe and loved. We give them time to talk, become comfortable, and heal. Most importantly, we work to help victims believe they don’t deserve what has happened to them and that they can have a better future for themselves.

At Dawson Place, we believe the children who have been victimized deserve our fullest commitment and a chance at justice. Without Dawson Place, families would have to drive all over the county to access the different services they need, and then hope they are able to coordinate with each other effectively.

We bring all these specialists together under one roof, allowing our team to better devote all their efforts to helping child victims, reducing the time spent coordinating amongst organizations and shortening the chain of communication between each other. In the end, delivering more positive outcomes for kids at a much more rapid pace.

1 in 10 children will be victims of sexual abuse before they turn 18, this is a staggering and heartbreaking figure. This means, in Snohomish County alone, thousands of kids will need our services.

Our organization is a part of the CARE Movement in Snohomish County! We joined 40+ organizations in the CARE movement in Snohomish County to strengthen the well-being of our community through collaboration and common language. At Dawson Place CAC we use our trauma informed lens every day and encourage our community members and fellow organizations to join us in this movement!

We provide services in Spanish and English. If you or a loved one are in need of help please contact us.
